Entry requirements
New students
If you are a new student, in order to be admitted to the University of
Auckland you must have a university entrance qualification and be
selected into a programme. Please refer to
The 2015 University of
Auckland Undergraduate Prospectus
or

Please note if you are applying for LLB Part I you will need to apply for,
and then enrol in, two degrees (LLB and another undergraduate degree),
either as conjoint or as double (concurrent) degrees, and choose your
LLB Part I non-law courses as a foundation for the other undergraduate
degree for which you have been admitted. If you are a new applicant for
the LLB and have already completed a degree in New Zealand you may
be selected for admission to Part II. Contact the Faculty of Law for
further information.

CIE or IB

Enrolment in Summer School courses is conditional on meeting
requirements for admission to the University of Auckland. If you are
awaiting final examination results you may be given conditional approval
to study Summer School courses.
If you wish to be considered for Summer School you need to have made
an application for the BA, BSc, BCom or a Certificate of Proficiency (COP).
Within the BSc, majors in Biomedical Science, Food Science and Nutrition,
and Sport and Exercise Science are not available for conditional approval.
If, upon receiving your final NCEA, CIE or IB results, you meet the
University Entrance Standard and the minimum requirement for entry to
your chosen programme, you will be able to confirm your Summer School
course enrolments.
If you do not meet the entrance requirements for a particular
programme, but obtain a University Entrance qualification, you may be
permitted to continue in any Summer School course(s) in which you are
enrolled if you elect to enrol in an alternative programme (subject to the
approval of the appropriate faculty).
If you do not obtain a University Entrance qualification you will be able to
complete the Summer School courses, but will not be permitted to enrol
in any further University of Auckland courses until you have attained an
entrance qualification and have been selected into a programme.
Applying for admission
Students new to the University of Auckland
If you were not enrolled at the University of Auckland in the year
preceding enrolment, you need to complete the online Application for
Admission form at
www.auckland.ac.nz/applynowApplications should be submitted to the University by 1 December 2014.
No late applications will be accepted.
NOTE: Your application will not be processed until you have submitted all
correctly certified required documentation.
How do you get in?
Note: From 2016 the University will introduce an academic English
language requirement for entry into all undergraduate programmes.

Returning students
If you are intending to apply for a new programme beginning in Summer
School, you need to meet the1 December application deadline.
No late applications will be accepted.
After applying
Applications for Admission to Summer School programmes will be
processed in December. You will be notified online and via email
regarding offers of a place. You will be required to accept or decline an
offer online before Christmas. Remember you still need to enrol online in
your choice of available course(s) and pay your tuition fees.
If you do not have internet access you can accept offers and enrol in your
course(s) at the Student Information Centre, Room 112, The ClockTower,
22 Princes Street, Auckland, or the faculty student centres.
Enrolment in courses
Enrolment process
All enrolments will be through Student Services Online
(www.studentservices.auckland.ac.nz). You can enrol in a maximum load
of 30 points over the Summer School period.
If you are not restricted to a minimum full-time load, you will be able to
enrol in a further 140 points over Semester One and Two, provided that
no more than 80 points are enrolled for in any semester.
The enrolment closing date for full Summer School courses is
22 December 2014. While you may continue to enrol until the start
of Summer School, some courses may not be available for enrolment
after 22 December.
To change enrolment
Should you wish to drop (delete) courses, you may do so online. The
deletion of Summer School courses online will be possible up until the
end of Monday 12 January 2015. Courses dropped before this deadline
are removed from your academic record and all fees refunded.
No withdrawal from Summer School courses will be permitted after
Friday 6 February 2015. Withdrawn courses remain on your academic
record and all fees remain owing.
You will be notified if classes are cancelled due to insufficient enrolments.
Academic Standing
If your Academic Standing status is Academic Restriction and Summer
School is your first enrolment after restriction, you will be eligible to enrol
during the Summer School session. You may enrol in a maximum of 25
points in Summer School courses. It is recommended that you talk to an
adviser at your faculty student centre about your options before you
enrol.
ID cards
If you are a new student, a student ID card will be sent to your listed
mailing address once you have submitted an appropriate ID photo and
your enrolment is complete. Returning students will be able to access the
